Liwen earned her PhD in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Groningen. Her research interests center around clinical neuroimaging research of dementia. Liwen completed her postdoctoral training at two esteemed institutions: the Memory Aging and Cognition Center at the National University of Singapore, focusing on Alzheimer's disease dementia, and the Memory and Aging Center at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), specializing in Frontotemporal dementia. Subsequently, she served as a Research Scientist at UCSF. Liwen's research is mainly dedicated to advancing the early detection of dementia and disentangling disease heterogeneity.
